Brian Cushing looks rejuvenated

It’s been a good offseason for Brian Cushing Jersey. The inside linebacker has been healthy in the January to June months of the year for the first time since 2012.

Then, he was coming off a 2011 campaign that saw his teammates select him as the squad’s MVP.Now, he’s coming off a 2014 that was frustrating for him at times.

In the early halves of 2013 and 2014, he was recuperating from major knee surgeries. With a full season back under his belt, and no physical limitations, he said feels like his old self.

“I feel great and just really excited to be back out there,” Brian Cushing Red Jersey said on Friday. “Mentally the best I’ve been in a while because physically it’s the best I’ve been in a long, long time.”

The 7th-year pro joked that he’s truly back at 100 percent, or “98, 99 percent”, as opposed to the 100 percent he said he was the last two offseasons.

“I can say that up here and really mean it,” he joked. “I’ve said it before and really haven’t, so I’m telling you the truth right now.”That transformation is clear to head coach Bill O’Brien.

He made a play today out there in a two-minute drill on about a 20 yard pass where he got back in coverage and he tipped the ball away,” O’Brien said. “That was a big play. It was good for me to see that. I think he felt good about making that play, but that’s an example of how far he’s come from the end of last year.”

Cornerback Kareem Jackson is pleased to see the return to form of Cushing, too.

“Brian Cushing is looking good, man,” Jackson said. “It’s the same Cushing I’ve seen since year one and a lot of energy, he’s definitely moving well out there for a guy that’s gone through the things he’s gone through.”

Brian Cushing and the Texans Store are finished with OTAs, and start up a three-day minicamp on Tuesday at the Houston Methodist Training Center.

Men’s Nike Houston Texans 28 Alfred Blue Elite Alternate Battle Red Jersey

The four-year letter-winner rushed for 1,547 career yards through 48 games with seven starts during his collegiate career. Hilliard’s 27 touchdowns tied him for No. 8 in LSU history. Hilliard, the nephew of former Men’s Nike Houston Texans 28 Alfred Blue Elite Alternate Battle Red Jersey LSU and New Orleans Saints running back Dalton Hilliard, earned honors as a member of the 2011 SEC Coaches’ All-Freshman Team and was the 2011 SEC Freshman of the Week (vs. Arkansas).

The Texans added LSU running back Kenny Hilliard to their roster with a seventh-round selection, 235th overall. Hilliard (6-0, 226) will reunite with former teammate Alfred Blue Jersey, a sixth-round pick last year.

“He’s a big back; he’s a first- and second-down back,” head coach Bill O’Brien said Saturday. “He’s a tough running back. He’s a good teammate. I think the history of success of running backs from LSU is something that’s good. I believe that Men’s Nike Houston Texans 28 Alfred Blue Elite Away White Football Jersey Sale he’s a guy, as most LSU backs, they rotate when they are there. They all come in as high school All-Americans and so they have to learn how to share the load and he’s willing do that.”

Now Hilliard returns to NRG Stadium, where he last played in Alfred Blue Jersey Cheap LSU’s 2014 season opener. His 28-yard touchdown and 93 yards in the fourth quarter helped Tigers mount a comeback win over Wisconsin. Hilliard missed the final two games of the 2014 season after suffering a shoulder injury against Alabama.

Houston Texans J.J. Watt leads list of top 10 defensive players

1. J.J. Watt, Texans defensive end:This is the easiest slot to rank all season. Watt is threatening to become the first defensive player to win the MVP award since Lawrence Taylor in 1986. He consistently stuffs the boxscore like no defensive lineman we have ever seen, including transcendent Hall of Famers Reggie White and Bruce Smith. Keep in mind: boxscores are as unfriendly to 3-4 defensive ends as any position on defense, failing to register stops in the run game, batted passes and quarterback hurries — three areas in which Mega Watt impacts the game like no other player.

“What J.J. is doing is remarkable and he should be considered for MVP. Not defensive MVP, but MVP. He’s had that kind of year,” Smith testified this week. “If (the Texans) were performing well offensively, it would be hands down for me that he should win both MVP and defensive MVP.”

2. Justin Houston, Chiefs linebacker: Tied for the NFL lead with 17 sacks, Houston is averaging more than one per game going back to the start of the 2013 season. Watt is the only player with more total sacks, hits and hurries than Houston’s 77 this season. He carries Kansas City’s defense in the same way that Jamaal Charles shoulders the offense.

3. Von Miller, Broncos linebacker:Miller is viewed by casual NFL fans as a pure pass rusher. That’s a mistake. Although he harasses quarterbacks as often as any linebacker in the league, he’s also one of the rare edge rushers to consistently shut down the run game. Miller is one of the main reasons the Broncos’ run defense is sporting one of the 10 best run defense metrics of the past 25 years, per Football Outsiders.

4. Richard Sherman, Seahawkscornerback: NFL Media’s research department tells us that Sherman has the lowest opposing passer rating among cornerbacks (minimum 200 targets) over the past 20 years, narrowly edging the latter half of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders’ career. According to Pro Football Focus, Sherman’s rating has peaked at a Blutarsky-esque 0.0 over the past five weeks, coinciding with the Legion of Boom’srise to the top of the NFL’s defensive rankings.

5 and 6. DeAndre Levy / Ndamukong Suh, Lions linebacker / defensive tackle: It’s impossible to choose between Levy and Suh as the most valuable on Detroit’s defense that leads the NFL in points allowed. For that matter, breakout star Ziggy Ansah and the safety tandem of Glover Quin andJames Ihedigbo deserve recognition of their own. Levy has been perhaps the most complete linebacker in the league, going sideline-to-sideline tracking down the run, covering tight ends and scatbacks and making plays behind the line of scrimmage. Often the best player on the field, Suh is about to surpass Watt as the highest-paid defensive player.

7. Darrelle Revis, Patriotscornerback: The Patriots rank second only to the Rams in Football Outsiders’ metrics over the past six weeks, due in large part to Revis’ excellence. Even if he’s not quite the comprehensive shutdown force he was with the Jets, Revis has been the best player on a surprisingly strong New England defense.

8. Gerald McCoy, Buccaneersdefensive tackle: McCoy would be higher on the list if not for the fact that he’s going to end up missing three games and parts of two others due to injury. When he’s on the field, McCoy ranks with Watt as the most disruptive interior pass rushers in the league.

9. Calais Campbell, Cardinals defensive end: Campbell was left off last year’s Pro Bowl roster as well as the offseason’s Top 100 Players of 2014 list despite being of the league’s best players a year ago. He has been just as impressive this season, leading a front seven that has remained ferocious despite the considerable losses of Daryl Washington, Karlos Dansby and Darnell Dockett.

10. Fletcher Cox, Eagles defensive end: We noted on a recent edition of the Around The NFL Podcast that Cox has been one of the three or four most dominant defensive players in the league over the past month. He and Watt have been the NFL’s most complete defensive lineman in the second half of the season.

‘Relentless’ Mens Nike Houston Texans 88 Garrett Graham Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Giants Giants oust Nats to reach NLCS

Must C Clinch: Giants advance to face Cards in NLCS

SAN FRANCISCO — Many Giants took a victory lap around the perimeter of AT&T Park’s playing field Tuesday night as they began celebrating their National League Division Series triumph over the Washington Nationals. The players might as well have extended their brief jog into a marathon.

The Giants’ act is a long-running one. Their 3-2 decision in Game 4, which clinched the best-of-five Division Series for them by a 3-1 margin, featured the elements that propelled them to World Series titles in 2010 and ’12. Pitching. Defense. And a certain kind of stubbornness, pride, Garrett Graham Texans Jersey for Sale or both that enables them to believe that while they may encounter better teams, they won’t face better competitors.

With a jam-packed crowd at AT&T Park standing in nervous anticipation, Santiago Casilla sealed the triumph by weathering a two-out walk to Bryce Harper and coaxing Wilson Ramos’ game-ending groundout to second base. The Giants then launched their celebration, cavorting in the middle of the field.

“The guys were relentless,” said Giants manager Bruce Bochy, whose club will confront St. Louis in the NL Championship Series for the second time in three years. “They’re warriors.”

Consider: San Francisco edged into the postseason as the NL’s second Wild Card team, yet it ousted Washington, the league’s winningest team (98-64) during the regular season. Neither team generated much offense in the Division Series, scoring nine runs apiece. But San Francisco’s pitching was just a little more effective, Garrett Graham Jersey limiting the Nationals to a .164 batting average compared to .222 for the Giants.

“The true story is pitching and defense,” said Giants right fielder Hunter Pence, who provided the latter half of that equation with a remarkable leaping catch of Jayson Werth’s sixth-inning drive to the wall. “That’s the foundation of this club.”

Ryan Vogelsong provided the base in this one. A star-crossed figure during the regular season who frequently was victimized by poor run support Mens Nike Houston Texans 88 Garrett Graham Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey or an inopportune pitch or two that spoiled an otherwise strong Garrett Graham Jersey Cheap effort, Vogelsong allowed two hits and one run in 5 2/3 innings as his fastball consistently reached 94 mph, exceeding the 91- or 92-mph readings he recorded during the regular season.

Vogelsong hadn’t pitched since Sept. 26. But the break enabled Vogelsong to rest as well as study video of himself to correct mistakes. He said he uncovered a few flaws that, once he corrected them, made him feel much like the 2012 version of himself, when he was the Giants’ leading winner in the postseason (3-0).

The mechanical glitches, Vogelsong said, “were sapping my velocity and the break on my pitches. I spent the last five or six days trying to clean that up and I was able to translate that into the game tonight.”

Vogelsong was excused after yielding one run and two hits in 5 2/3 innings. Werth, the last Garrett Graham Nike Elite Jersey batter Vogelsong confronted, nearly drove Pence through one of the right-field archways. But Pence caught the ball, almost wedging himself in a cutout portion of padding covering the unforgiving brick wall.

Said Posey, “If a defensive play can switch the momentum back in a team’s favor, I think that one did.”

Pence himself said modestly, “I knew that he hit it hard, and I know that our park is big. So I was trying to run back as hard as I could.”

San Francisco’s offense also proved to be more resourceful than Washington’s. Mens Nike Houston Texans 88 Garrett Graham Elite Away White Jersey The Giants scored all of their runs without benefit of a hit.

“We didn’t get the runs we thought we should have, but we created the opportunities,” Bochy said.

In the Giants’ half of the seventh, Joe Panik and Posey launched San Francisco’s go-ahead rally with one-out singles off Nationals reliever Matt Thornton. In came rookie Aaron Barrett, who walked Pence to load the bases.

Barrett’s 2-1 delivery to Pablo Sandoval skipped in the dirt for a wild pitch, scoring Panik. Ordered to walk Sandoval intentionally, Barrett sailed a pitch to the backstop, but catcher Ramos quickly recovered the ball. Ramos’ throw to Barrett, who covered home plate, beat the sliding Posey, and a replay review confirmed there was no violation of the blocking rule.

Tigers Women’s Nike Houston Texans Andre Johnson Limited New Pink Be Luv’d Jersey top top Twins for fourth straight division title

MIN@DET: Tigers clinch fourth straight division title

DETROIT — The Tigers still own the American League Central. It just took them a little longer to deliver the final installment.

It wasn’t quick, and it wasn’t easy, but the Tigers have gone the easy route before and come up short. With 7 1/3 shutout innings by David Price and two RBIs from Ian Kinsler, the Tigers clinched their fourth consecutive division title by the slimmest of margins, taking a 3-0 win over the Twins on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park.

They’re back in the postseason with a chance at the World Series they’ve been pursuing for four years. They’ll take it.

“Battle-tested teams are always better,” Kinsler said. “To be able to put up with those things and to overcome what we’ve overcome definitely makes Women’s Nike Houston Texans Andre Johnson Limited New Pink Be Luv’d Jersey us a tougher team. Now the goal’s just to prove it.”

The Tigers’ 90th win of the season was one more than the Royals, who held on to beat the White Sox in Chicago with their spot in the AL Wild Card Game sealed by game’s Women’s Nike Houston Texans 99 J.J. Watt Pink Fem Fan Fashion Jersey end.

Detroit advances to the Houston Texans Pink Uniform AL Division Series against Baltimore, which will host the opening two games Thursday and Friday. Game 3 of the ALDS will be at Comerica Park on Sunday, with Game 4, if necessary, on Monday, Oct. 6, Women’s Pink Texans Jersey in Detroit. Game 5, if necessary, would be back in Baltimore on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

It’s the step expected from the Tigers all along. Make what you want about the long wait, but with the sense of urgency at its peak, the Tigers again delivered, thanks in large part to two players who weren’t around for the previous three division titles.

All of those were clinched on the road. Twenty-seven years had passed since the Tigers clinched at home. That, too, came on the final day of the regular season, when another Tigers left-hander, Frank Tanana, won a division title in Detroit by shutting out the Blue Jays at Tiger Stadium.

Price couldn’t duplicate Tanana’s shutout, but he came close. The one opponent that kept him from it was his pitch count. Considering how well the Twins had chewed up one Tigers pitcher after another over the last few weeks, it was an accomplishment.

Five days after taking a shutout bid into the ninth inning and losing a 3-0 lead, Price was again at his best, changing speeds and holding down a Twins lineup that pounded Tigers pitching for much of the season — including Price a week and a half ago at Target Field — and scored 23 runs over the previous two nights to take Detroit’s division hopes to this point.

There wasn’t a major change in game plan, catcher Alex Avila suggested.

“It’s about getting ahead and executing,” Avila said.

There was one pitch in particular that Price executed on the Twins to frustrate them.

“That’s the best I’ve ever seen him command every pitch in and out, but especially his cutter,” Brian Dozier said. “It was sharp. It wasn’t just a little baby cutter. It was moving pretty good. When he commands that 93-94 [mph] with a backdoor cutter, he’s tough.”

Price (15-12) allowed four hits over 7 1/3 innings, with two walks and eight strikeouts. He retired the side in order in just two innings, and faced a runner in scoring position in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, the latter two with less than two outs. Each time, however, he got a clutch strikeout.

Dozier, who homered each of the previous two nights, whiffed on a 94-mph fastball to end the third. Oswaldo Arcia fanned in the fourth before Eduardo Escobar grounded out. Aaron Hicks doubled with one out in the fifth, but Price sent down Danny Santana with a changeup, fastball and cutter before retiring Dozier on a flyout.

It was the kind of big-game outing that prompted the Tigers to trade for Price at the July 31 Trade Deadline. They just weren’t counting on needing it quite so soon.

“You can’t pitch a better game than what he did,” Kinsler said. “He could’ve gone 1 2/3 more, but I think that’s just getting greedy.”

Kinsler’s 17th homer of the season was the Tigers’ first hit off Kyle Gibson, who made his first trip through the Tigers’ lineup allowing only a walk. A hanging breaking ball on a 1-0 pitch was one of the few mistakes Gibson (13-12) made all afternoon.

“I was lucky enough to get a hanger from him,” Kinsler said. “He didn’t make a lot of mistakes today. To be able to capitalize was just big.”

The pitch that added on runs in the eighth wasn’t so much a mistake as a credit for Kinsler. Gibson tried to go inside for a fastball, but Kinsler anticipated it, sending a ground ball through the left side as Andrew Romine sped into third base.

Third-base coach Dave Clark aggressively waved Romine home, challenging left fielder Chris Herrmann to make a play. Romine Texans Pink Jersey not only beat the throw, but allowed Ezequiel Carrera to take third base and set up Torii Hunter’s sac fly off Lester Oliveros.

All that was left was the ninth inning, and closer Joe Nathan turned in one of his best of the year. And once Avila secured Arcia’s popup in his mitt for the final out, the Tigers stormed the field.

For all the celebrating they’ve done the last few years, it could have been subdued. For all they’ve been through this year, it was not.

“I understand that the fans were frustrated,” Victor Martinez said, “but there was nobody more frustrated than ourselves. We know what kind of talent we have here. We really were frustrated, and you know what, I’m really proud of this group today. We stayed together, and Houston Texans Women’s Pink Jersey here we are.”

Buehrle hits 200 IP for 14th straight year Men’s Nike Houston Texans 58 Brooks Reed 10th Anniversary Elite Battle Red Alternate Jersey in in win

SEA@TOR: Buehrle strikes out 10 en route to 13th win

TORONTO — Mark Buehrle has been Mr. Reliable throughout his Major League career, and even though he gets older with each passing season, it hasn’t made Brooks Reed Jersey the slightest impact on his overall performance.

It seems like year after year Buehrle defies the Brooks Reed Jersey Cheap odds by continuing at his remarkable pace. There have been better pitchers over the past two decades but nobody has been as consistent, Brooks Reed NFL Football Uniforms and the veteran lefty proved it yet again during Wednesday night’s 1-0 victory over the Mariners.

Buehrle tossed eight scoreless innings to become the seventh pitcher since 1901 to record at least 200 innings in 14 consecutive seasons. Just as fitting, the milestone was reached in a game that took under two hours to play.

“You look at some numbers back in the day, 200 innings was a terrible year, those guys were going 400-500 innings,” Buehrle said. “I don’t know what’s changed from then Men’s Nike Houston Texans 58 Brooks Reed Elite Away White Jersey till now, but it seems like each year it’s getting harder and harder to get to 200 innings for me. I like to think of myself as a throwback guy just because I like to go out there and have fun, but the game has definitely changed.”

The game might have changed, but the company Buehrle now finds himself in would be impressive regardless of the era. He joined a prestigious group that includes Warren Spahn (17 seasons of 200 innings), Don Sutton (15), Gaylord Perry (15), Phil Niekro (14), Christy Mathewson (14) and Greg Maddux (14).

The 35-year-old Buehrle is the first pitcher in Major League history to record at least 200 innings with 61 or fewer walks in 14 straight years. He surpassed Cy Young, who accomplished the feat from 1897-1909. In addition to the innings milestone, Buehrle has won at least 10 games and made 30 starts in 14 straight years, which is the most since Perry had 15 from 1966-80.

The streaks are a testament to the success Buehrle’s enjoyed at the big league level but also to his ability to stay healthy. Buehrle made his 461st consecutive start without a stint on the disabled list. That’s the longest streak in the Majors and reminiscent of an era when pitchers were pushed to their limits year after year.

“You wish there were more of him, I’ll put it that way,” Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. “When you coach and manage on teams, I’ve been here and different places, he’s at the top of my list for not only baseball players but individuals. We all have our issues and things like that, but he does everything right. He’s a throwback type of guy. He understands the game, he deals with the game, he just does everything right.”

Buehrle’s milestone outing looked like so many starts he’s had throughout his career. The Major League leader in pace cruised throughout the night in a game that took one hour and 59 minutes to complete. His only minor hiccups on a 10-strikeout night came in the third on a double by Corey Hart and in the fourth on a leadoff infield single by Dustin Ackley.

The native of Missouri received a standing ovation when he officially hit the 200-innings plateau after the sixth and again in the ninth when he was lifted after a leadoff single. He’s done this 200-inning thing plenty times before, but this one feels a little more special because for a long time there was some doubt about whether it would even happen.

“I think it’s going to mean more at the end of the season, knowing I accomplished it again,” Buehrle said. “I think when I had two or three starts in a row I had three innings, four innings, mixed a six-inning game in there, I kind of, I don’t want to Brooks Reed Merchandise say gave up, I said, ‘Hey it’s not going to happen.’ I did the math and said I have eight starts, I need so many innings, I didn’t Brooks Reed Texans Shirts like my chances. It means a lot because I put this goal on myself in Spring Training.”

Toronto almost wasn’t able to capitalize on Buehrle’s strong outing. The Blue Jays were unable to get anything going off rookie right-hander Taijuan Walker, who matched Buehrle pitch for pitch for much of the night. Walker faced two batters over the minimum through seven innings, and it wasn’t until the eighth that Toronto finally managed to piece together a mini rally.

Infielder Munenori Kawasaki got things started with a one-out walk. He remained at first base until one out later when Ryan Goins hit a high blooper to center. Kawasaki was running on the play and the ball dropped between center fielder Austin Jackson and second baseman Robinson Cano. Kawasaki scored all the way from first base and gave the Blue Jays the only run of the night.

Buehrle was in search of his first complete game since July 25, 2013, but left after a single by Chris Taylor led off the ninth. Rookie reliever Aaron Sanchez entered, picked off pinch-runner James Jones and then retired the side to record the third save of his career.

“He had it going,” Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said of Buehrle. “He’s a veteran guy that knows what he’s doing. He’s got great touch and feel. He had the cutter going in, good changeup, breaking ball, mixed it all. That was vintage Buehrle.”

Slow-starting Mens Nike Houston Texans 80 Andre Johnson Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey With Captain Patch Nats Nats break out behind Gio in Miami

WSH@MIA: Nationals push across five runs in the 4th

MIAMI — Securing home-field advantage became a lot easier for the Nationals on Mens Nike Houston Texans 80 Andre Johnson Elite Away White Jersey Thursday night, when they overcame an early one-run deficit to beat the Marlins, 6-2, at Marlins Park.

Manager Matt Williams talked before the game about the importance of Youth Nike Houston Texans 80 Andre Johnson Elite Away White Football Jersey keeping pressure on opponents, and Andre Johnson Football Uniform his team was able to do just that, taking advantage of several Miami miscues to take a four-run lead in the fourth inning. The Nats improved to a National League-best 88-64, two games ahead of the NL West-leading Dodgers.

“It’s kind of ingrained in our minds now, the way we’re supposed to go out there and go about our business,” said Ian Desmond, who had an RBI hit and scored a run.

But the Nationals couldn’t get much going early against Marlins starter Brad Hand, who was perfect for the first 3 1/3 innings. It wasn’t until Anthony Rendon pulled a single through the left side of the infield with one out in the fourth that things started turning around.

With two outs, Rendon moved into scoring position on a stolen base after first baseman Jeff Baker couldn’t complete a pickoff Mens Nike Houston Texans 80 Andre Johnson Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey With Captain Patch throw to second. Rendon eventually scored his 109th run of the season on Wilson Ramos’ game-tying double to deep center field. Desmond drove in the go-ahead run on a ground-ball single to right field that Reed Johnson couldn’t handle.

With runners on the corners, Asdrubal Cabrera added a two-out RBI hit of his own, and he ended up scoring on a two-run single by Kevin Frandsen, who started in place of Adam LaRoche for the second straight game. But unlike Wednesday, when Frandsen was hitless, he was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

“We gave them an extra out there, No. 1. Then it just looked like [Hand] elevated some pitches,” Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. “This team that we’re playing, they’re going to the playoffs. … We can’t give them extra outs.”

In all, the Nationals put together a string of five two-out hits to score five runs off Hand in the inning. They added another in the fifth courtesy of a Jayson Werth double.

The outburst was more than enough for starter Gio Gonzalez, a South Florida native making just his second career start at Marlins Texans Jersey Online Store Park. The right-hander had been scheduled to throw on Wednesday, but the Nationals sent Blake Treinen to the mound instead. The extra day of rest clearly did Gonzalez some good. In seven innings, he gave up just two runs on six hits and didn’t issue a walk.

“I actually wanted to hug Blake for that,” said Gonzalez, who had to clarify several times that when he said “home,” he meant Miami. “He was a trooper. Went out there and pitched in Atlanta and gave me a chance to pitch at home, in Miami, and it was pretty cool. … I think that whole section [behind the on-deck circle] was bought out. A lot of that came from my back pocket. It’s one of those things that you don’t mind pulling Andre Johnson Jersey out the AmEx card for.”

Gonzalez allowed the Marlins to take an early lead in the second inning. He gave up a leadoff single to Baker, and Johnson followed with a double slapped to the warning track in right-center field. The ball bounced to the wall, then ricocheted into Denard Span’s hand. But as Span unleashed a throw home to Ramos, Baker never slowed. He slid into the plate a second before Ramos could apply a tag.

But after that, Gonzalez cruised through the next few innings, needing just 55 pitches to get through five. A 10-pitch at-bat and a pair of hits drove him up to 80 pitches by the end of the sixth.

Gonzalez remained in the game for one more inning and earned his third win in his last four starts. That’s after going through a stretch in which he went 0-5 with a 4.38 ERA in his previous nine starts.

“I just think he’s got a better feel,” Williams said. “You look back to not too long ago, where his slot was a little bit off and he was losing control of the fastball up and away to righties. He didn’t have a feel for his curveball. But he’s got that back, which is important for him. If he can do that, he can roll through the lineup.”

Which the left-hander did, as he struck out five batters and induced seven groundouts compared to four flyouts.

“There’s still more work to be done,” Gonzalez said. “You’re content, maybe. Those numbers are [good] for someone else, but for me, I want to keep getting better.”

Buchholz continues Brian Cushing Elite Jesey impressive impressive stretch, contains Jays

TOR@BOS: Buchholz whiffs five over 6 1/3 frames

BOSTON — Clay Buchholz may finally be starting to round into form. And while that won’t mean much to the 2014 Red Sox because of how they’ve played through the first five months of the season, his continued success will be paramount to how the club will fare in 2015.

On Saturday Brian Cushing Jersey for Sale night, Buchholz was strong once again in a 4-3 victory over the Blue Jays at Fenway Park. For the first time all season, the righty has made three consecutive quality starts.

“At some point in the game, I’m using each and every one of my pitches in an effective way,” Buchholz said. “Regardless of it being two pitches in one inning to get outs, I’m using them and I have confidence in them.”

Buchholz tossed a three-hit shutout against the Rays on Sunday and followed it up with more of the same Saturday. Following a one-hour, 12-minute weather delay, Buchholz surrendered a run on two hits and walk in the first. But he retired 12 of the next 13 batters.

On the night, Buchholz gave up two runs on Brian Cushing Jersey four hits over 6 1/3 innings. He walked two, hit a batter and fanned five. The 30-year-old, who figures to be at the top of the Red Sox rotation next year, has posted a 3.22 ERA and 3.50 K/BB ratio over his last six starts.

After going 12-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 2013, Buchholz has a 5.29 ERA over 24 starts this season. But things have turned for him lately.

“He looks like the old Buchholz,” Toronto manager John Gibbons said. “His last time in Toronto and again tonight, early on when he was struggling, he was missing and leaving a lot of balls in the middle of the plate and we were taking advantage of it. Now, he’s living on the corners better. He’s a good pitcher. He goes through ruts like anybody else, but he looks like the old guy now.”

In the sixth, Buchholz gave up a leadoff double and a walk, but dialed up a 1-6-3 double play and then a flyout to hold Boston’s three-run edge. The next frame, though, he hit Danny Valencia and after recording an out, exited for Craig Breslow. Colby Rasmus took the lefty deep down the right-field line to bring Toronto within one run.

Burke Badenhop and Drake Britton held Toronto scoreless for the next two innings. The Blue Jays Men’s Nike Houston Texans 56 Brian Cushing Elite Lights Out Black Jersey put runners on first and second in the eighth, but Red Sox center fielder Mookie Betts made a diving catch coming in on a Kevin Pillar popup to end the inning. Edward Mujica got the game’s final two outs to record his first save since temporarily taking over for Koji Uehara as Boston’s closer.

“The opportunity is there,” said Mujica, who saved 37 games with the Cardinals last season. “This is a big opportunity for me to go out there and show what I can Brian Cushing Football Uniform do.”

Boston’s offense wasn’t explosive by any means — not like the nine-run outburst Friday that featured a pair of multi-run comebacks — but it got the job done. After dropping their first six games at home to Toronto earlier in the year, the Red Sox have taken the last two.

Boston scored once in each of the first four innings. Betts hit his first career triple to start Brian Cushing Elite Jesey Boston’s night, then scored on a Dustin Pedroia groundout. In the second, Will Middlebrooks lined a single to left to bring in Mike Napoli, who then exited because of illness.

David Women’s Nike Houston Texans 56 Brian Cushing Limited Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Ortiz lumbered home from first on a Yoenis Cespedes double to right in the third. Christian Vazquez knocked in Middlebrooks with a double high off the Green Monster the Brian Cushing Shirts next inning. Middlebrooks went 1-for-3 with a walk, but made solid contact in all three at-bats and nearly clubbed an opposite-field homer in the sixth, but Jose Bautista made the catch up against the wall.

“Any time we get production out of that bottom third of the order, regardless of who is in those slots, we’re likely to be in for a good night offensively,” Red Sox manager Farrell said. “The last two nights have been that for us.

“Will is swinging the bat — he came out of a tough series in New York — and to bounce back and swing the bat like he has coming off the bench [Friday] night and tonight, it’s Brian Cushing Jersey Authentic encouraging.”

Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ took the loss, allowing seven hits and four runs over six innings, walking three while fanning five.

TOR@MIL: Bautista belts three-run homer in the 6th

MILWAUKEE — The Blue Jays will look back on this three-city road trip with disappointment, but if there’s one consolation prize, it’s that they’re at least heading home on a Nike Arian Foster Jersey positive note.

Toronto hit the road 10 days ago with grand aspirations of securing themselves as bona fide contenders for the second Wild Card spot in the American League. It didn’t work out that way, but there is finally some life in a lineup that has been otherwise dormant.

Jose Bautista and Colby Rasmus sparked a big Women’s Texans Arian Foster Jersey day at the plate with home runs as the Blue Jays enjoyed their highest offensive output of the month in a 9-5 victory over the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park.

“In reality, that’s baseball. You go through those stretches,” Blue Jays manager John Gibbons Arian Foster Cheap said. “They didn’t get a couple of two-out hits, might have made a difference in the game too. Sometimes the pitcher is pretty good, sometimes it doesn’t take much to just miss a ball.”

The production on offense was a stark contrast to the way the Blue Jays have been playing this month. Toronto entered play on Wednesday having averaged three runs per game, and the team that’s known for hitting homers had seven, which ranked last in the Majors.

The Blue Jays’ lack of runs was the main reason the road trip got off to such a poor start. Toronto was swept in Seattle after scoring four runs in three games, and even though the numbers were better in Chicago, it resulted in only one win over the White Sox.

That’s going to have to change in a hurry if the Blue Jays have any realistic hope of remaining in the Wild Card conversation. The pressure will be on the big names at the top of the order to lead the way, and they came through during the series finale in Milwaukee.

The big three of Jose Reyes, Melky Cabrera and Jose Bautista combined for seven hits. Each player doubled while Bautista added his 24th home run of the season in the breakout afternoon Arian Foster Football Women’s Jersey at the plate.

“It’s a team effort when you win,” Gibbons pointed out. “You have your key guys, your big boys in the middle, and they have to carry you, but everybody has to pitch in one way or the other, and then you have to play good defense.”

Toronto was quiet through four innings, but scored two in the fifth and took control of the game in the sixth. Josh Thole and Munenori Kawasaki had back-to-back doubles with one out, and the top of the lineup took it from there. Reyes and Cabrera hit back-to-back singles Arian Foster Youth Jersey before Bautista homered for the first time since Aug. 11.

The five runs in the inning were the most Toronto has produced in one frame since the club scored nine during the sixth inning vs. Boston on July 28. That game vs. the Red Sox also marked the last time Toronto scored more than six runs.

“It’s great to have an inning where you put a crooked number up there,” Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey said. “I feel like we’ve been overdue for that. That’s kind of our calling card, is being able to put up big innings, and we haven’t had one in a while.”

Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson was charged with four of the Blue Jays’ nine runs. He was pulled after the back-to-back doubles, and reliever Zach Duke didn’t retire either of the two batters he faced. Brandon Kintzler eventually surrendered the Bautista homer as Toronto jumped in front, 7-3.

Dickey picked up the victory after giving up five runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings. He was on the verge of another quality start until a Men’s Reebok 23 Arian Foster Houston Texans Authentic Alternate Red Jersey two-run homer in the sixth inning by Carlos Gomez chased him from the game. Even though Dickey got the win, it was the first time since June 4 that he didn’t go at least six innings.

“I expect more out of myself, especially there in the sixth,” Dickey said. “I was one out away from a tolerable outing, but I’ve Arian Foster Texans Women’s Jersey got to get better at being able to close out innings where we score runs in the top of the inning. I was right there, just one bad floating knuckleball and it was a two-run home run. I fought hard, as hard as I could.”

Toronto will take the day off on Thursday before opening a lengthy homestand vs. the Rays, Red Sox and Yankees. If the make-or-break time hasn’t occurred for the Blue Jays yet, it’s about to.

“You hope so, we’ve Arian Foster Jersey done it before,” Gibbons said when asked about his team needing the type of spark that can come from Wednesday’s win. “We’re looking forward to getting home. We definitely play better there. We’ve had so many off-days lately. At one point, you can’t wait to have one, now you’d like to go out and play again tomorrow after today’s game. But we’ll get rested up. It’s a big homestand.”
